ASR has been pretty fun so far. As usual, there's a little bit of skating, a little bit of bid'niss, a lot of sauce, and a ton of Barbie Cali girls walking around. Since one of the most exciting events of the year was moved to an uneventful side show at that one billionare contest at the carnival, there is no Pro/Am Game of SKATE at ASR this year. Lame. However, SPoTlight will be running the Automatic Magazine's Battle of the Shops this weekend at ASR on September 6. It will be ripping skating of a different kind on four different types of obstacles with shop teams that send their best guys in. It's full for registration, but you're welcome to come watch or you can check out the coverage here after I sober up.

At Surf Expo on September 12, Volcom is having a $10,000 Am Mini-Ramp Jam. The Contest is for sponsored ams only, but some people get in through video footage. If you've done a stink bug or a blunt nose grab in the last five years, send your footage to Termite. Otherwise, if you rip and want a spot, send me the link to your footage and I'll see if you can get in. I wonder what kind of gear we will be sporting this time.

I'm Still Here

I have been in service of online customers and up to my ears in boxes since early last week. I had to fly home from NYC early to cover for our main online guy who quit with no notice during our Back to School Sale. That was one of the busiest weekends we've ever had come out of our ASS (Asian Sweat Shop - online order packing). Feels awesome having to send people notes like this. Things are just about caught up and I will soon return to regular updates with feet photos and chill shots of things that generally have nothing to do with skateboarding.

It Was Nice Visiting Tampa For A Few Days

This weekend
Bristol,
Porpe,
Frosty,
Schaefer,
Clements,
Barak, and I are going to New York City. Some of us are simply on the lurk and some of us are going for sketchy skateboard industry bid'niss affairs. We are all going early so we can check out Back to the Banks on Saturday at the Brooklyn Banks. Watch for full coverage of that here.
The next day is that one contest that fired SPoTlight Productions that ran it last year. I guess we might be at that if they let us in.
