I am no Rob Meronek. If I were, not only would these photos have been posted as soon as the Contest was over, but results would have been tweeted, facebooked, and on our site. I swear SPoT was at PHX AM this year, and here is the proof.
Dylan Perry, CJ Dixon, and I landed early in Phoenix and decided to head out to the Grand Canyon. I went the old school route and decided to get a road map to guide us on our journey.

On the way to the Grand Canyon we stopped off at one of the many public skate parks in Arizona. This one happens to be in Flagstaff, and CJ Dixon locked on to a nice back smith. Maybe next year he will grind the whole ledge.

Upon our arrival to the Grand Canyon, we immediately ran into some wildlife. I'm pretty sure this is an elk because it was bigger than any deer I have ever seen.
It took six hours to get there, but we made it to the Grand Canyon. This was by far one of the most mystical places I have ever been to in my life. I recommend that if you ever have the chance to experience this mesmerizing landmark, you take advantage of it.
The next day was practice, and Dylan was taking some slams on the bump to bar.

Collin Provost was awarded The Skateboard Mag's Year's Best Am. There was no doubt that he was one of the best ams out there by doing this 180 to switch crooks with ease. Please take note on how he pops out.

I couldn't get enough of watching Collin Provost skate. Take a look at how high, no pun intended, he was popping these frontside 360's over the bump to bar.

After last year's PHX Am, I learned that having a big brimmed hat is a must in Arizona. David Loy making it look easy with the crailslide over the key hole.

Jaws was killing it all weekend. Here is a properly done backside air.

I like to call this a doubles sequence. Vern Laird has the filming technique down getting coverage of his boy Evan Smith doing a backside tailslide.

I am looking forward to the new Transworld Video coming out this summer. I'm pretty sure we are going to see Theotis Beasley do this trick down something gnarly in the video.

I waited all day for Curren's run just to be able to capture this frontside air. You're welcome.

In this photo I spy an up and coming announcer, our SPoTlight filmer hard at work, and Elijah Berle doing one of the biggest ollies of the weekend.

The Darkstar team was on a trip, and I happened to run into Greg Lutzka.

When Qualifiers were over we headed to yet another park, where I was experimenting with Rob's fisheye lens. Here I got CJ Dixon doing a front shuv 50-50 on a bump to ledge.
Josh Matthews is the latest addition to the eS squad. He's got skills with this backside 5-0 frontside 180 out.

Everywhere I go I usually have some gift cards and promo to give out. I like to hook up the kids that know about us.
If you didn't know already, Ben Hatchell is really good. Here is a frontside 270 lipslide down the handrail.

Ben Hatchell has the crowd favorite trick on lock. Here is the McTwist or 540 or whatever you call it when you go up in the air and do one and a half rotations.

Matt Berger won the Best Trick Contest with a backside 360 kickflip over the bump to bar. I do have the footage, but the chances of me editing it and posting somewhere for you to watch are slim to none. Sorry.

If you don't already know, Collin Provost got 3rd, Jack Olson 2nd, and Ben Hatchell won the whole damn thing.

Congratulations Ben Hatchell for winning PHX Am 2011 on your 21st birthday. Not only will Jamie hopefully turn you pro, you can use the money you won to pay off the attorney for the underage drinking charge you received while you were in Tampa!

On the way out I spotted Braydon Szafranski and Antwuan Dixon chilling in the parking lot. Thank you Cowtown for another great event, and I look forward to next year.
