During check-in, everyone signed an entire row of boards Quiksilver made, creating a stack of old guy prized possessions. A few skaters took one, but many of them went out to the crowd.

The Birdman doesn't do frontside grinds, so the closest he's coming to the cover is BGP's. Frontside Grind Magazine is hyped to have Mike Frazier on the cover, though.

Everyone has the lien to tail. Buck Smith was smacking them down and sounding like a shotgun.

Maybe it's time for Lein to Tail Magazine. Mark Lake was pretty amazing out there being 53-years-old.
I forgot what a unique style Henry Gutierrez has. He reminds me of an 80's Darren Navarette.

Hosoi and I had a nice laugh over my impersonation of him in this photo.
The closest Tony Hawk comes to frontside grinding is smith grinds. I couldn't make a cover out of it.

Jeff Hedges is still killing it, too. His nickname was Ffej back in the vert heyday.

Kevin Staab high above the crowd which was that deep on both sides of the ramp.

I missed Mike McGill's 540. He seemed to be skating the same as ever, also.

Christian Hosoi makes the rock and roll boardslide looks really good.

When Christian changed gear, I had to go and do the same thing. Thanks for the photo, Tito.

Man, the editor never thought that Christian Hosoi would one day be on the cover of Frontside Grind Magazine. Big time.
Skater Profile: Christian Hosoi
Mike Frazier's alley oop fakie 5-0 to fakie is a scary move even on a mini-ramp.

Ffej - I don't know my inverts enough to call these out. Update: pretty sure it's an eggplant.
Skater Profile: Jeff Hedges
Thanks to that crowd, this photo of Christian Hosoi looks as 80's as possible.

Schaefer's quote on the mic about Cara Beth Burnside was, "She's been skating since birth, right out of the womb. Carving the lips." Wow.
There weren't many street pros in the 80's, but this one right here was one of the best: Jeff Kendall. I remember him running and jumping into method airs down stairs.
SPoTlight judge Mike Sinclair has to always be forced into wearing wacky gear with us.

Did they have Colombian's in the 80's? I don't know, ask Porpe.
Skater Profile: Jorge Angel aka Porpe
Christian Hosoi's signature move, the Christ Air. I think the days of getting airs named after you are long gone unless someone starts getting real creative.
Skater Profile: Christian Hosoi
Tony Hawk did so many unique tricks that many of them never got named. What would you call that? A fakie ollie footplant?
Skater Profile: Tony Hawk
Mike Frazier brought a lot of the 90's out. This tail grab nose stall backside 360 is crazy.
Skater Profile: Mike Frazier
Did I mention Mark Lake is 53? We all have no excuse for feeling old when we skate.
Skater Profile: Mark Lake
Another unnamed trick by Tony Hawk. This one was a crowd pleaser back in the 80's and it still got a good rise out of the crowd today. I felt the wind on my face from this one.

Brian Schaefer, John Gibson, and Kevin Staab. John Gibson had a Zorlac board back in the 80's. I rode a few of those.
Afterwards, officials from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC had Tony Hawk complete the documentation to have his board put in the museum.

The Smithsonian Institution handles their artifacts with care. Tony said, "Keep that lapper on there. It might be the last one in existence."

Thanks Tony, Quiksilver, and the 80's. Get full results here.
