Skypoint Staff Says Call Police When Dogs Poop in Curtis Hixon
See the story behind this here. The stiff goonies running the Skypoint building in front of Curtis Hixon Park sent an email to all residents asking them to call police if they see skateboarders and people not picking up after their dogs in the park. I called Tampa Police Department to complain about these crimes I witness every day.
Zero Demo at SPoT
Joe Pelham put together this footage from the Zero demo on Friday. Chris Cole destroyed the place along with Garrett Hill and the rest of the Zero team. Garrett's backside flip nosegrind out forward was one of the best things I've ever seen on the ledge. If you were here, thanks for coming to the first demo of the year at SPoT.
Creating New Skateboarders in our Local Neighborhoods
Boards for Bros is Skatepark of Tampa's charity. We collect used skate stuff all year long plus have our friends at skate companies donate things to build complete skateboards. Special thanks to Girl, Element, Royal, Ocean Avenue, Sole Tech, Indy, and Adio. Each year on the Saturday morning before the Ghetto Christmas Party, we pile them all in a truck and drive around looking for kids who could use a hook up.
Tampa Am 17-Year Anniversary Party With Del and El Ten Eleven
Colin Clark put together some footage from the 17-Year Anniversary Party for Skatepark of Tampa at Czar in Ybor City during Tampa Am. Can we go back to that night right now?
Mindblowing Skateboarding at Tampa Am on Sunday
In Josh Stewart's Sunday Tampa Am Recap, Ron Deily takes you on a tour of Euro
stanky legs and serious tech tricks going down in runs like nollie flip
noseslide shuv it out, 5-0 360 flip out, and switch back lip shuv it out.
Oh, and Luan's switch frontside 180 5-0 backside bigflip out. Yikes. I'm a fan of super clean and fast simple noseblunt slides like Ron did in his run across the whole box, too. Evan Smith is also blowing minds with stuff like wallie backside 180 switch crooks. Actually, this entire video is some of the best skating that's ever gone down in the history of Tampa Am Finals.
P-Stone's Re-edit of the Stalker Steve High Ollie Jump
The whole building was chanting, "Stalker! Stalker! Stalker!" Can he do it???
Josh's Red Bull Trip from North Carolina to Tampa
Josh Stewart started his trip to Tampa Am in Charlotte, NC with Joey Brezinsky and the rest of the Red Bull crew. They also had some skaters in Tampa Am with them. Along the way, they hit up a bunch of spots Josh put together in this seven minute clip.
An Interview With Two Virgins
Looks like Chase Webb is well on his way to getting past second base. P-Stone harassed the kiddies at the counter in this hilarious interview about girls with little contest tykes Chase Webb and Tyson Bowerbank.
The What's Up Column at SPoT chronicles everything that goes on here at SPoT and the other events we do around the world through
SPoTlight Productions, our skateboarding events company. It's also littered with opinions on random things in skateboarding and
other adventures from our travels like nightlife and plain old tourist sightseeing. Occasionally, there's even some skate business
talk and industry banter and news. It's primarily written by Rob Meronek, skating for 20+ years and working at
the Park full time since 2001.

You Didn't Know the Big Ass Fan Had a Security Camera

Although there was no photographic evidence of the etnies team actually being in
the building during that one day we called "Session with the etnies team," some
forensic evidence has started to trickle in. Stalker Steve sent in a photo of
what he claims to be the etnies team doing an autograph signing. Yep, all you have
to do is assume that the backs of all their heads that he shot are the people on the team.
Well, we all learned from assumptions already, so that's not going to work. I managed to
check the amazing security cameras we have placed all throughout the Park for the final
piece of evidence to confirm we are not liars. I turned the footage over to Filmer Joe
where he applied his editing work and now we have this video that proves our case:
The etnies team was at SPoT,
thank you very much.

There is no BMX on Wednesday or Sunday night.
There are no regular skate sessions on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Boards will not be allowed in unless you're in the Contest.
Tickets for Friday are $5 and sold in the Shop. Tickets for Saturday (Qualifiers) and Sunday (Finals and Best Trick) are $15.
Saturday night / Sunday morning at 2am, the clocks go forward an hour. Don't show up at what you thought was noon but is really 1pm on Sunday. Things get going at noon in the Park and on the live webcast.
Sean Malto and P-Rod are out there right now killing it while the Park is pretty empty.
Torey Pudwill is on Plan B. Huh? Wow.

The "Tampa Tribute" Art Show is in the Snack Bar the entire time during Tampa Pro. Local artists have done work as a tribute to some of the most amazing skate artists, most of which are from a time when graphics in skateboarding were actually memorable. This Sims Screamer graphic was just dropped off and will be part of the show.

He's one of the nicest pros you will ever meet so walk up, high five him, introduce yourself, and join in on the session with us. See you here tomorrow night and if you want to get a photo on the site, hit me up.

On Saturday when the etnies Session began, I handed my stuff off to Stalker Steve for a few hours to give him a chance at shooting with some higher end equipment that makes it very easy to do my job. Unfortunately, he neglected to point the lens at anyone from the etnies team. When he gave the camera back to me and I saw nearly 1,000 shots fired,
I assumed he had plenty. Oh well, here are the usable shots from Stalker that were on my camera when I got home:

This Saturday,
Mikey Taylor, Davis Thorgeson, Devine Calloway, and Tyler Bledsoe (Malto is sick) will be here
for the
session with the etnies
team at 5pm this Saturday. They're also bringing flow guy Ryan Pearce. Who dat? I don't know, but
the last etnies Who Dat flow
came to Tampa Am and now everyone knows who he is. It's going to be some ripping skating
at the Park this Saturday. In the meantime, all
etnies gear is 20% off through this weekend. Combine that with some
coupon codes I've been throwing out on Facebook and
Twitter and you've got a damn good deal going.
Oh, and the first 200 people through the door on Saturday skate free courtesy of etnies.
Plus free BBQ and t-shirts. Damn, what else do you want? Maybe they'll put you through
college, too. See you here and hit me up for a photo or sequence. Just look for the
classic oriental with the tourist cam on the street course.
There's a been a weird increase in the number of soda pop tour type pros registering for Tampa Pro this year. I'm guessing it's because of the rumors on the street regarding that one MTV guy starting a contest series with a million dollar first place prize where pros invited to skate the contest are not allowed to do soda pop tours and other not so legit events? That can't be true, right? No way, rumors are never true in skateboarding. Forget I said that. Anyway, we've got some oldies like Austin Seaholm and Nyjah Huston coming this year, but we've also got plenty of regulars like Dennis Busenitz coming. The barn will burn as usual so make sure to get your tickets before they're gone. Below is a trailer Colin Clark put together for Tampa Pro. See you here and if you can't make it, it will be live in HD on FUEL.TV at 12pm EST on Sunday, March 14th.

Instead of wasting time gathering my photos, I'm going to make the most epic Stalker Steve Munny. I won't even have to do anything since it's already in the right shape. Ain't Nobody Got Snaps Like Eddie Smalls

In this latest call from Larry Perkins AKA Eddie Smalls, he gives Luis Tolentino a call to interrogate him about big snaps and breaking the world record ollie. Luis is such a nice guy, he stays on the phone with Eddie Smalls for a full half hour of harassment, even after LP almost blows his cover after not being able to contain his laughter when he talks about how he's been ollieing ice all winter long. I cut it down to a few minutes. Larry also confirmed that he's coming to Tampa Pro. Maybe we'll get to finally see what he looks like and watch him skate in person.
Meanwhile, back in Innetech, check out all these white dudes packing it in the ASS (Asian Sweat Shop - online order packing), except these are not online orders.
Larry Perkins got them all working on a special gift for everyone that shows up the
morning of his Nike SB shoe release at SPoT on March 14 at 11am.
