There's a $50,000 prize purse with $10,000 for a photography contest at the Rotterdam Grand Prix of Skateboarding next month on July 18 - 19. It's a mixed Contest of top ams and pros. There's also a $20,000 budget allocated for travel expenses to get people we like to Rotterdam. Yes, so if you get a bribe to join us at Rotterdam because we want to see you skate, we hope to see you there. A commercial and more details can be found at the SPoTlight Productions site.

Thanks to all the sites that covered Copenhagen Pro in a much quicker and more professional way than I did. I need to step it up over here. Check out wdbm.dk. They have footage and photos of everything and a whole bunch of weird letters like "å", "ø", and "æ". Over at tackyworld.com, they're helping my hype up AmsterDamn Am next month and you can see all of Hellraiser's CPH Pro coverage. Back in the US and A, Blair from Transworld has his chill cam view of the Contest plus video of the Finals and Best Trick. Right here on our own moving pictures page, Colin Clark has several clips of the ripping that went down. Thanks to all the filmers and photographers that showed up, even the semi-pro Brazilian filmers.

We would like to welcome the following companies to The Moat Show. Where are we going to fit new ones in? We're not. The Moat Show is now full and the draw bridge is up. On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 18 and 19, all of these companies will be showing their new products that you'll find in skate shops in 2010. Find out if any of your favorite companies are going to finally make those Brazilian pro models. See you here at The Moat Show.

How do you explain to someone that you're instantly unmarketable and done with any chances of any kind of legit career in skateboarding if you try to claim "pro skateboarder" status with nothing to back it up? I had a hard time doing that this weekend while regulating who can and can't enter Copenhagen Pro. I almost got knocked out while I was sitting in the hotel lobby. Some guy was super pissed that I didn't let his rider in the Pro Contest. The hotel staff tried to calm him down but he just kept on yelling at me. He said, "Just take the $150 and let him enter the Contest!!" If only it were as simple as money. Here's the full story along with some photos and video: Copenhagen Pro 2009 Weekend. Thanks to all the nice people of Copenhagen along with DVS for another super fun year of great skating and lots of new and old friends.

Copenhagen Madness

Here's a small sample of the ruckus going down in Copenhagen right now: Torey blew it out in the Street Qualifiers and after my favorite vert skater skated the Street Contest, he went on to destroy in the Vert Demo. I've never watched anyone skate and thought, "He should probably put a helmet on." Finally, people are diving through fire making this weekend a literal barn burner.
