Filmer Sara Video
Posted by Rob on Tue, Oct 30, 4:22 PM
Right after the Damn Am this weekend, Filmer Sara drove straight from Costa Mesa to her hometown in Texas for 22 hours. Despite not sleeping for 27 hours, she still edited and sent over clips of the Finals runs. Plus, she filmed the whole thing in a damn tu tu. The sketchy skateboard industry needs hard workers like that. You should be one and come join us. It's a good time. Check out Sara's footage: Damn Am at Volcom 2007 Filmer Sara Footage.
Boo

Just Landed In Hell...
Posted by Rob on Wed, Oct 24, 10:39 PM
Porpe, DMFP, and I just flew into Orange County and had an amazing view of the fires in the surrounding area. Photos coming up tomorrow. Things at the Contest are just fine, however. See you at Damn Am this weekend in Costa Mesa.
Let's Go To Hell!
Posted by Rob on Wed, Oct 24, 11:36 AM
Can you imagine how fun hell is going to be? All the people that are a great time to hang out with on Earth are going to end up there for sure - strippers, rock stars, 99% of skateboarders, etc. It's so damn cool, there's probably a waiting list at this point. I can't wait to go. Hope I get in. This weekend all my friends that are trying to get into hell with me are flying into what appears to be hell on Earth in the wildfires of Orange County. It's time for another Volcom Damn Am presented by SPoTlight Productions and broadcast live on the web by 411. See you there.
Yep, That's a Baby
Posted by Rob on Tue, Oct 23, 10:47 AM
How come they only call out your weight and health on your first birthday? They should do that every year like, "P-Stone turned a healthy 30-years-old today weighing in at a wopping 220 pounds, 6 ounces." Traditions are weird like that. Well, it's not P-Stone's birthday, but he did just recently have a kid. And when you have a kid, you want to tell everyone in the world, kind of like when you get an iPhone, or maybe that's just me. Anyway, here's a photo of Baby-P. Welcome to Earth, Oskar.

Damn Am Thank You Ma'am
Posted by Rob on Tue, Oct 23, 8:40 AM
Damn Am is coming up this weekend. During registration, I have received a disturbing amount of emails from people with the title "Coach" or "Agent." Skateboarding continues to get more and more silly. Shane Sheckler, brother of that one dude, was registered by MTV so you'll see that crew there the whole weekend. This year's Tampa Am winner, Felipe Gustavo is also signed up along with the new Flip "who dat?" kid, Luan De Oliveira. It's going to be a good West Coast Tampa Am this weekend. If you're not there, the whole thing will be live on the web at 411vm.com. The wildfires are two hours away in San Diego, but if it's anything like the ones a few years ago, bring your SARS mask with you.
If It Ain't White It Ain't Right
Posted by Rob on Mon, Oct 22, 3:25 PM
Thrasher has a new site. Maybe you won't hate it as much as this one.
Unfortunately, if you're using Internet Explorer as your web browser, some of the links on the main page simply take you back to the main page. Sometimes computer geeks get over-passionate about stupid stuff like what program you use to look at porn and what not on the Internet. Can you imagine actually caring about stuff like that? It's the porn and what not that matters, not the tool you use to look at it.

Too Many Skateboard Shindigs
Posted by Rob on Mon, Oct 22, 9:56 AM
This weekend is Damn Am at Volcom. The next weekend after that is Make-A-Wish Texas Skate Jam, and the weekend after that is Clash of the Crews in Miami. I can't wait to have a weekend with nothing to do and nowhere to go. I wonder what that's like.

SPoT Demo Photos
Posted by Rob on Wed, Oct 17, 10:08 AM
Jorge Angel and Angel - sounds like a law firm. Nah, they're two SPoT employees that sit up here in the too quiet upstairs offices. They put together a story and photos from a demo we recently did: Skatepark of Tampa Demo for Phoenix Hope Foundation.
Point and Stalk
Posted by Rob on Tue, Oct 16, 9:41 AM
I think Stalker Steve, Photograffiti champ, might have some of the qualities to make it in the sketchy skateboard industry behind the scenes. He’s nerdy as hell, appears to be a hard worker and determined to improve what he’s doing, and lurks all up on you, hence the nickname. He’s taking a photo class now and sent over a few: Stalker Steve Flicks. At least someone in Tampa is taking skate photos. I'm kinda bored with it. Here are some more photos from SPoT local Danny Dorsa.
Fire in the Hole
Posted by Rob on Tue, Oct 16, 9:16 AM
This one is no match for the Firecracker Prank Gone Bad from a few years ago, but still, a fire is always a big deal. Over the weekend there was a fire here at SPoT. Angel snapped some photos: Fire in the Hole.

The rest of the details are here.

Posted by Rob on Thu, Oct 11, 9:48 AM
