Since so many more people skated today than yesterday, we had to take the top 25% from each day to make it even. 25% of yesterday is 16 skaters. 25% of today is 21 skaters. There was a tie in 21st and 22nd so we took 22 today to make the cut to Sunday: Damn Am SATURDAY Street Qualifiers Results.

Sorry the heat sheets are so late. I had to make a bunch of changes for people that needed to skate a certain day and also delete anyone who hasn't paid their entry fee. I am such a fan of DC after this weekend’s King of LA event we did with them. Everyone there is a good time to work and hang out with, the Contest they put together brought out a few new “Who Dat?” rippers, DC pros were hanging out all day, and this was as legitimate as you could make a skate contest.
My favorite Who Dat of the weekend is Trevor McClung. Hope I see you at Damn Am this weekend, Trevor. Check out Clem’s story and some of my photos: DC King of LA 2008.

Since so many people not in Tampa read this site, it's kind of embarassing showing the hurting spots we skate. Our downtown is dead for stuff to do both on or off a skateboard. So, I end up at this Turtle Ditch place alot. It would qualify as the worst spot on earth but luckily we have that stupid Bro Bowl across town that's had the crown for two decades now. You know the one your dad is trying to save because of history or some crap? Jackhammer, please. It's been a very interesting time in LA and Hollywood so far. We stopped by the set of Rob Dyrdek's new MTV show which includes a 20,000 square foot warehouse that holds his office and a full concrete street plaza.
Of course, there's the usual scoping of famous skate spots.
Today is the Vans Downtown Showdown and we spent all day yesterday on site at Paramount Pictures. Watch for the live webcast at skateboard.com at 8pm Florida time.

Also worth checking is this frontside 180 switch crook frontside half cab out on the bump to bar. Da-Damn, Gu-Gu! Cody Davis is in the growth spurt club and is looking good with backside 180's out of kickflip backside smith grinds.
There's also plenty of clips of the latest "Who Dat?" - Julian Christianson. He dresses a little funny and takes his back foot off, but he rips.

Clem and I are here in the Brandon of southern California - Lake Forest, CA. We're at the etnies Goofy vs Regular Contest. We are here to just hang out. We are not running this one so don't ask me for a wristband. I'm lucky I have one myself. Yesterday we had a nice pool session before watching the Bowl Jam that ended pretty late last night. By that time, I had been up for nearly 24 hours and called it a night. Yep, no party photos. Wow, fire me from the Skatepark of Tampa Party Team. Nah, I'm making up for it tonight at the Bad Religion show and After-Party.

To the outside world, it looks like nothing much, but behind the scenes, serious nerd work went down and we finally have Gift Cards that work in the Shop and on the website. They've been in the Shop for a while and all the gift cards purchased in the Shop work on the site now. Also all cards purchased on the site work in the Shop. There has also been a slight change to the New Shoes Page. New ones appear in that list as soon as Angel uploads the photo.
