This Vert Contest was off the damn charts. Amazing high energy, a crazy huge rowdy ass crowd, free beers for everyone, and 9 out of 10 people drinking and smoking and slamming anything they could after some of the most ripping runs ever. Here's some mainstream news and photos about GSD today. 50 cops were waiting at the Bro Bowl this morning for us at 9am. Everyone is going to ghetto gap at 5pm today for the Best Trick Contest. Can't give you directions because Officer Doofy will show up with his crew. If you skate, you know where that's at and we'll see you there. Violators will be charged, arrested if necessary, and skateboards confiscated." Wow. Read that and more in this Internal Memo From Officer Doofy that was just forwarded to me. Tomorrow is going to be a pretty interesting day. Whoever organized the Go Skateboarding Day thing has an alternate plan that I think is a great idea that will be irritating as hell for Mr. Doofy but won't get any of us arrested. Back when I was a younger kid than I am today, my favorite part of Sesame Street was always the part where they would show factories and how stuff like mass quantities of candy and soda were made. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to go on this tour of a skateboard factory that Clements just went on last week. He took some interesting photos. From Clem: After Manny Mania in Venice a couple of weeks back I stayed for a bit of a vacation. I got to see some friends, did a little work, skated a bit, and more or less relaxed for a few days in not-so-sunny Southern California. By far the most interesting thing that I did was take a tour of Paul Schmitt's skateboard deck factory, PS Stix. Check out some pics...

Check the Results Page for all the results from today. We changed it up a little at this Contest and had seven minute jams with five to six skaters per jam instead of timed runs. The skating in the Sponsored Division’s final jam was off the charts. I have a ton of photos to put up but my head is too fried to do that right now. Check back Sunday afternoon.

Right now, the course is sweating like it skated all night. It's way too sketchy to be skating right now so the Contest today is postponed. Watch for another update in about an hour. If things clear up by 11am, we'll start things off, but if not, we will have to cancel the Contest and close for the entire day with no skating at all. The Shop will remain open, however.
